Volunteer applications can be picked up in the school office. In order for the application to be processed at the district office, a signed letter from the principal is required.  This letter is also available in the school office. For more information on volunteering at Olinda, please join us at either the room parent/volunteer orientation on September 9 @ 8:30 am in the MPR or at the PTA Meeting September 10 @ 7 pm in the MPR.

Olinda PTA is holding a Uniform Donation
A collection bin will be placed outside school office on September 10 (Wed) and PTA meeting time (September 10, 7:00 pm~8:30 pm, MPR). If you have gently worn uniforms, please bring them in.
 
Donated uniform will be displayed on Sept. 18 (Thursday, back to school night) between 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. in MPR. It is a first-come, first-serve basis, please come and take a look.

3- Get your Raley's Quality of Life card! You can shop at Raley's and raise money for Olinda Elementary School at the same time!

4- The Olinda School Site Council (SSC) manages and approves the budget for Olinda's categorical funds, such as funds for Library, English Learner programs, Gifted Student programs, Reading improvement programs, etc. It also handles other site specific issues, such as school uniforms, facilities, etc. The SSC has 5 positions for teachers and staff and 5 positions for parents or community members.

PTA Membership Drive is August 26th - October 3rd

When you become a member, your support will bring us closer to accomplishing these goals. Simply fill out the enclosed PTA membership envelope, include membership dues of $15/person*, and return it to your child’s teacher. Every PTA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. During the membership drive we will collect and tally all membership envelopes received by October 3rd. For Grades K – 3rd, each class that receives 20 memberships will get a pizza. For Grades 4th – 6th, each class that receives 30 memberships will have a pizza party. Memberships must be received by October 3rd to count towards a class party. Each person that joins the Olinda PTA during our membership drive will automatically be entered into a raffle for a $50 Trader Joe’s Gift Card. The drawing will take place at October’s PTA meeting on Wednesday October 8th at 7pm in the MPR.

Save your Box Tops and Labels for Education (Product list and info) over the summer. We will have a drive in the Fall 2008 to see which classroom can earn the most points!
