On December 3rd we will have our annual Turkey Trot. Turkey Trot is a delightful event designed to encourage fitness, raise funds for important school programs, and let the kids and staff have a whole lot of fun. Our students will be “trotting” around our running track in an effort to raise money for PTA Sponsored enrichment programs.

Volunteers and Fundraising
Turkey Trot is one of our most important fund raising events of the year. So, we need parent volunteers for pre-event planning and to participate the day of the event. And we need parents and all our kids to work hard to raise funds. Turkey Trot fundraising is easy. Just get direct donations from friends, family members, acquaintances, and business associates. Most people are more than willing to give $5, $10, or $20 to help support a good cause like Olinda School PTA sponsored enrichment programs. This Web site contains links to all the tools you will need to conduct am effective fundraising effort including the most effective method of all ---- email. Try using email as a fundraising tool and you will be amazed at the results.

The Day of the Event
The morning of the event a table with coolers and cups will be set up so our student trotters can get water during the event. Volunteers are being gathered to hand out water and coffee stirring sticks (our method of keeping track of laps). Students will walk, run, jog or skip to complete as many laps as they can during their “trot time.”  Each class and each student will have a "number of laps goal" so please be there to keep them trotting towards their goals – let’s cheer, clap and hoot for our kids!

Immediately after the allotted time, the students will gather by class to be checked out. Contributions will be tallied for each child and their class. Coffee stirrer sticks will be counted and the number of laps completed written on the sponsor sheet.
